Berno & Irma Anniversary Session | Brisbane Wedding & Portrait Photographer

Marriage is such a wonderful thing, having your best friend with you all the time, doing life together and living in full trust of this one person you call family.

I still remember right in the beginning of their friendship when Irma was texting Berno, how she would laugh at what she was reading, and I asked “who are you messaging?” She told me it’s this guy from university, they just click and have the same sense of humour. The two of them hadn’t even met yet! But that’s another story… ;)

Time would go by like it was nothing, and they would just send messages back and forth, and be in this bubble where they had no real perception of time…

A few months later, my sister came to visit us with Berno by her side, and I could immediately tell that there was something very different about her. She was starting to blossom into a more confident version of herself, happy, loved, nurtured… I could just see that this was the beginning of a long, loving relationship! And that made me so happy!

Berno grew up as one of four brothers. I love seeing my sister so happy with this guy, they share their meals, drinks, a couch, everything :) My sister has really found the one person she can be 100% herself with and know that she’s safe. It goes without saying that for these reasons (and because Berno is a great guy of course), our family welcomed him with open arms and loves having him as part of ours.

When visiting South Africa, my husband and I asked my sister and her husband to go away with us for a few days. We went to a nature reserve, or as we call it in South Africa, the bushveld. One afternoon I photographed Berno and Irma here, and I just love the soft background the tall grass gives!

Couple photography is one of my ultimate favourite things, and anniversaries are no different! Whether it is an engagement session, wedding, or anniversary, I love the milestones in a couple’s journey, capturing it for beautiful memories to treasure from then onwards. Relationships are worth more than any earthly possession, and we should treasure it with our entire life, our thoughts and lifestyles should be evident of our commitment to one another.

I am truly honoured to have so much love around me, this session was as special for me as it was for them!

Feel welcome to share this post with anyone you would like to remind of the beauty of marriage, love, and remember to never take these special moments for granted – enquire with me to photograph your loved ones! :) Follow me here: Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Pinterest

Love,
