Claire | Brisbane Newborn and Family Photography

This lovely family welcomed their first baby into the world with big plans going on – the new house they’re building in the woods sounds amazing! With a love for native plants, traveling and beautiful views and landscapes, Claire is sure to be a little explorer too! Using natural colours in her session as well as a little gumnut hat her mum made for her the night before her session, this newborn session is definitely one that will suit their home.

Scrolling through Claire’s session you will see her beautiful features up close, her fair features and little baby rolls, along with some adorable koala cuddles. I look so forward to seeing what the artwork from her session looks like on the walls!

Katrina and David, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph this session for you guys. I hope you love these photos and that Claire will cherish them too when she’s older :)

Newborn photography is so much more than just photographs. Newborn photos, when taken professionally, capture the essence of a new baby. Their tiny details, how curly they are, how sweet they sleep, what they might have been like in the womb… Photographing these young babies, often in their first week or ten days of birth, is something truly special to me that I wholeheartedly love and celebrate in my heart.

If you’re reading this and are expecting your own, or someone close to you is, I would LOVE to be considered for your newborn photography. Bookings can be done as early as your 20th week of pregnancy, as we only make the final date once your baby is born. Making a tentative date beforehand ensures you can have peace of mind that the session is scheduled, you won’t forget or get lost in all that’s happening close to the birth, and you can ensure that I am available for your date. I hope to hear from you soon! :)

We couldn’t be happier with the beautiful photos Sonja took. She took all our ideas requests on board to tailor the outcome to our taste. She was also wonderful to work with and so patient and helpful on a day when baby was being quite difficult and not in the mood for photos. The photos came out looking wonderful – we highly recommend using Sonja for newborn or family photos.” ~ Aira van der Walt
